Sprint Sizzler Information

Hey Sharks!

I wanted to send out the information about Sprint Sizzler early this morning, as the deadline for registration is Saturday, May 25th.

Sprint Sizzler is a 2-day meet, Sunday, June 2nd and Monday, June 3rd at the Cy Fair ISD Natatorium. It is a great racing opportunity at a nice indoor pool setup for the kids to go super fast.

The entry rules are a little confusing, so I am going to explain them here, but you can also check the eligibility report to see if your athlete is qualified to participate in the meet.

There are NO QUALIFYING TIMES for 13 & Over swimmers. The athletes cannot have a no time in the event, but time trials times count, so as long as they have swam it this season they are eligible to participate in sprint sizzler.

For 12 & Under swimmers, there is the "bonus" rule. If your athlete has 2 of the qualifying times, they are eligible to participate in most other events. The 100 IM and the 50 Free (For 10 & Unders) and 100 Free (For 11-12s) still require a qualifying time.

As with the 13 & Overs, time trial times are viable to enter events, but "No Times" are not allowed, so your athlete must have swam the race this season to participate in that event at Sprint Sizzler.

There are 2 relays per age group per day, a single gender, and a mixed relay. These are super fun opportunities, and it is very fun extra racing.

Backstroke, IM, and the regular distance freestyle are on Sunday, along with the freestyle relays. Breaststroke, long freestyle, and butterfly, along with the medley relays are on Monday.

Sunday the meet starts at Noon, with warmups starting at 11. On Monday the meet starts at 5 PM, with warmups starting at 3.

Entry Fees are 8$ per individual event, and that will need to be submitted to the Sharks prior to the start of the meet on Sunday.

If your athlete picks up more qualifying times either this Saturday against Memorial Northwest or next Saturday, June 1st against Gleannloch Farms, we WILL be able to add them to the meet as long as you pay the entry fees.

Registration is open right now, and will stay open until Saturday night at 8 PM. I strongly encourage everyone to register, as we are really trying to make a push for the team awards, and we need as many sharks as we can get at the meet to make that happen.

Please don't hesitate to email [email protected], or text me on the remind and I am more than happy to answer any questions so the Sharks can make the best showing possible.

CHOMP!

Coach John
